Our Club was formed in April, 1952 with 28 Charter Members. We were sponsored by the Eagle River club and the Charter meeting was held with much fanfare at the old Northernaire Resort. The first president was Robert Singer. Many changes have occurred in our town since then....the Northernaire is no more, trains no longer visit the town (the tracks are a memory), a great library has been built, along with a town hall and community center, post office, and many businesses have come and gone. Our schools are a source of pride now and many activities have become tradition, such as the Ice Fishing Derby and the Fourth of July parade.
Our club has been responsible for the beach facility at Maple Lake, the above mentioned Derby and Parade, an Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Costume Contest, and a Christmas Party, all for Three Lakes kids. Over the years we have contributed to the schools' programs, the Fire Department, the library, and to countless unfortunate individuals who found themselves temporarily in need. Hearing aids, glasses, and medical alerts have assisted the community. We achieved non-profit status in 1967 and, currently at 66 members, the club is involved and active in the Three lakes Community. It's our home and we want to make it even better. And we will.
