About the Lions Club -

Celebrating their 50th anniversary on May 11, 2002

The Three Lakes Lions Club is a proud member of Lions Clubs International, belonging to District 27 C2, Region 2, Zone 2.  It was founded in 1952 with 25 members, and today boasts more than 65 members.  The Three Lakes Lions sponsor many worthwhile local and State programs, participating in Sight First, Lions Camp, Badger Boys State, and local community projects such as Little League baseball and soccer, the Maple Lake beach facility, Reiter Senior Center, and a host of fun activities for Three Lakes citizens.  Some of these are:

In addition, they have helped sponsor  Foreign Student Exchange programs, special classroom equipment for the schools, and  assisted some local residents with special medical expenses, such as medical alert devices and hearing aids.   They collect more than 500 pairs of eyeglasses each year for redistribution, and this year donated $2,500 toward an ATV Emergency Medical rescue vehicle.  In October, they voted $200 to help the local High School Cross-Country team purchase a warm-up shelter for their meets. In 2001, they contributed more than $5,000 to many local organizations and needy families.

All of these activities are supported by funds raised locally through community-wide raffles, contests. a pancake breakfast, and an annual auction.  So...the next time a local Lion approaches you about purchasing a ticket for a program, Say "YES" to the Lion! And support their community efforts.
