Spyware Problems

This page is here to help you rid yourself of what we call Spyware. Spyware is malicious software installed on computers to report the way you use the internet, to the program authors. It slows down your computer, it causes pop-ups, and frankly doesn't do anything good for you. Follow the instructions on this page, and you may notice a great increase of speed in the computer, and better functionality.

Spyware is a big problem for anyone who owns a computer. After trying numerous different programs to remove Spyware from computers, we have found that Ad-Aware (Lavasoft) is the best program to remove it. In this tutorial, we will show you how to download, install, update, and run Ad-Aware. This should take care of any Spyware problems you have been having.

First off, download the program. You can download it by clicking here.

Once you have clicked there, this window should pop up. Just click Run when it comes up, as seen here.

After you hit Run, a window may pop up that looks like this. Just click Run on this window.

This is going to take a bit to download, but once it does, this window will come up. Just click Next when it does.

After you click next, the window will change to this. Put a check mark in the box, and click Next again.

When the next window comes up, it will display the location it is going to install the program to. Just leave that as is, and click Next at the bottom.

Now your all set to install the program onto the computer. Just click Next on this window, as seen here.

Now the window is going to display all the files being copied to your computer, and it will end up with a screen looking like this one. Uncheck all the boxes, as you will take care of those options manually, and ust click Finish at the bottom.

When you click Finish, this window will close. Now, on your desktop there will be an icon for Ad-Aware 6. Locate this icon, and double-click on it. It should look like this.

When you double-click on the icon, a new window may come up that looks like this. Just click cancel on this as we will manually update the definitions.

Now that you have the program downloaded, installed, and open, your going to want to update it. You can do this by clicking on Check For Updates Now, as seen below.

Once you click that, a new window will come up in front, that will look like the image here. Click Connect on this window.

This is going to dial you up to the internet. Once you are connected. You are going to get one of two windows. If you dont get the window shown below, just skip this step and scroll down to the next step.

If you get this window, just click OK.



Once you get this window up on your screen, just click OK.

This is going to download the latest reference file for Ad-Aware. Once finished, just click Finish on the window shown here.

Now your all set and ready to configure the process. You should be back to the main window now. Just click on Start in the bottom right of the window, as shown here.

Once you've clicked on start, you will be at the main configuration window. In the middle of this window there are there options, as shown below. Select the middle option, "Use Custom Scanning Options", and than click on Customize, as shown below.

Once you click on Customize, a new window will pop up. There will be a series of X's and check marks. You are going to want all of them to be Green Check Marks, except for the "Skip Non Executable Files", and the "Skip Files Larger Than...". You can change them from being X's to Green Check Marks, by clicking on them. Once finished, it should look like this.

Once you have all of this ready, just click Proceed at the bottom.

Once you have clicked on Proceed, you will be back to the main Configuration window. Just click Next at the bottom.

Now your computer is going to start scanning for Spyware. This is what the scanning window looks like.

This may take quite a while, but let it run. When finished, it will come up with a window similiar to this.

Click Next at the bottom, and it should pull up a list of all the malicious files found. Right click on any of those files, and select "Select All Objects". This, in turn, should select all the objects. This window should look like this.

Once you have selected all the objects, just click Next at the bottom. This will than pull up this window.

Just click OK on this window. This will than Quarantine and Delete all the files.

And your done! Just close the main Ad-Aware window, and go!
